     African Centre of Migration and Society, Wits University

     May 2019 - July 2019

I am completing my dissertation in Johannesburg at the African Centre for Migration and Society. My research has to do with the challenges Burkinabe migrants face in accessing healthcare while traveling to Côte d'Ivoire. I am also assisting the Migration Health and Development Research Initiative in expanding a global network of researchers who focus on the intersection of migration and health.

(Unaccompanied Minors Department): Completed intake paperwork and analysis of referrals to the department, conducted home studies with minor and sponsor, provided legal support at court hearings and lawyer meetings, recorded case notes of various parts of the process, assisted client with education and medical appointments

Located and compiled a digital archive of documents pertaining to the cultural program ‘Summer in the Parks’ which ran from 1968-1976, created maps and spreadsheets displaying data for ease of access and analysis, wrote an article about democracy and public space (specifically with regard to community parks)
